The Credit One Charleston Open is the largest women-only tennis match held in North America. Since 1973, this event has brought tennis fans together in the Lowcountry to enjoy women’s professional tennis.

However, this tradition has been put on hold for a few years. The last time that this event was held with fans was in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic began. While the team behind the tournament produced three made-for-TV tennis events during the last three years, they are eager to welcome visitors back to the newly renovated and upgraded Credit One Stadium and site with Credit One Bank as their new title sponsor.

According to Tournament Director Bob Moran, the significance of this event returning in 2022 is getting the whole tournament crew back together. He said, It’s hard to believe that we haven’t seen our fans and volunteers since 2019. Getting to welcome everyone back this year with a newly renovated stadium and elevated experience across the grounds makes this year's reunion feel very special.”

While the matches during the week are undeniably the most exciting draw to the event, there will be many activities and destinations for fans to enjoy. From an interactive fan zone with family-friendly games and challenges to pickleball clinics and live music; there is truly something for every fan to enjoy at the Credit One Charleston Open.

A few events to look forward to are happy hours and live music at the Match Point Bar & Grill, daily tennis talk shows with former World No. 1 player Tracy Austin, former World, No. 3 player Pam Shriver, and fan-favorite Bethanie Mattek-Sands.

Aside from the thrill of 14 day and night sessions over the course of nine days, the popular nature of this tournament makes it stand out from other tennis events in the nation. When asked about the most unique aspect of the tournament, Moran said, The global scale of this event makes the Credit One Charleston Open a unique event for Charleston. With players from across the world, a global TV audience and attendees from 49 states plus Washington D.C., the world truly comes to Charleston for our tournament.”

When fans enter the gates to the event, they’ll be able to enjoy a fully renovated stadium with a main entry plaza, enhanced grounds, and new dining and beverage options to choose from. Don’t forget to cheer on your favorite tennis player with a refreshing The First Serve” cocktail, the Credit One Charleston Open’s signature drink with Butterfly Pea Flower vodka, lemonade, and club soda.

You can still purchase single session and ticket packages. If you’d like to attend a match or two with friends, you can pick and choose which days you’d like to attend. If you’re looking for a good time over the course of a few days, there are still tickets left for the Tournament Long Package, or you can enjoy the first few days of the tournament with the Intro Package. Experience the thrilling game of tennis with your favorite players from around the world in an up-close and personal way at the Credit One Charleston Open.
